Francis Bacon

"Read not to contradict and confute; nor to believe and take for granted; nor to find talk and discourse; but to weigh and consider. Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested: that is, some books are to be read only in parts, others to be read, but not curiously, and some few to be read wholly, and with diligence and attention." This quote from Francis Bacon "The Essays" is printed on the image of Trinity College's Library, where the author, statesman, philosopher, scientist, orator and jurist studied between the ages of 12 and 15 years old. Let her be the ocean

I created Laisse-la d'venir l'ocean or Let her be the ocean using an image I took on the Ligurian Sea. The art piece was created to celebrate the concept of the feminine essence being strong, profound and able to change mood without rhyme or reason, just like the ocean. It was inspired on the simile David Deida makes on his book The Way of the Superior Man, where he proposes women are like the ocean and writes: Let her be the ocean. Encourage her to be as free as the ocean, as deep as the ocean, as wild as the ocean, and as powerful as the ocean. Be so full in your loving, so strong and stable in your presence, that she can just let go and surrender the limits she has put on her feelings. Let the emotions of her heart flow unguarded. Let her love be expressed with no limits. Let her go mad with love. Image printed on photographic paper. Wood frame. #Lovewins

#Lovewins was the trending hashtag on twitter when the Supreme Court ruled illegal to discriminate people from getting married irrespective of their sexual orientation. This piece juxtaposes the way we communicate now and the thinking of our time with the thinking of the time and the way stories where told in the past by placing the twitter hashtag, font and message in front of the stained-glass windows from St. Patricks Cathedral in Dublin. Stained-glass windows were used to share stories with a mostly illiterate population. They are beautiful as they are artistic. This art piece celebrates our decentralized way of sharing stories through the internet and the civil rights leaps we have made. The stained-glass images and text are printed on paper.   Image printed on photographic paper. Wood frame. This is a Limited Edition piece of 6 prints and 2 Artists Proofs. Mamihlapinatapai

The Yagan people, an indigenous community from South America, defined a moment all of us have experienced and treasure in our life but no civilization had ever named it. Mamihlapinatapai is the moment two people are looking at each other's eyes, both wish something would happen between them but neither has the courage to let the other know how they feel. The image of the lightning bolt was taken in the Caribbean and represents an unplanned event charged with energy in which electricity fills the air, just like when one experiences mamihlapinatapai.   Image printed on photographic paper. Wood frame. This is a Limited Edition piece of 6 prints and 2 Artists Proofs. Size is 100 x 150 centimeters (39 x 59 inches)

Masculine & Feminine

The image at the left represents masculine energy with the rocks and the sand; the image at the right represents feminine energy with the ocean. The photo representing feminine energy has the mantra Sat Patim Dehi Parameshwara (please give to me a man of truth who embodies the perfect masculine attributes) which is chanted when a woman is looking to attract love. The photo representing masculine energy has the mantra Om Shrim Shriyei Namaha (Om and salutations to the creative abundance that is the very form of this universe) which is chanted when a man wants to attract a woman into his life. I Supermoon You

A supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon on the day of its perigee, or the closest the moon is to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, making it appear much bigger to our perception. For madmen only

Nur für Verrückte! is the sign read by Harry Haller, the main character in Herman Hesse’s Steppenwolf. I find an echo of my own human experience in the description Harry Haller has of himself, experiencing the constant pull between being a man desiring to transcend the normative order of the bourgeoise society into a more spiritual existence, and feeling the call of the raw nature of the wolf of the steppes, instinctually attracted to the world of sensual pleasures. As far as how the moon relates to this story, allowing oneself to bathe in its silver light while admiring its magical romanticism is, as the quote translates, For Madmen Only! The image is the reflection of a full moon on the Caribbean Ocean. This piece celebrates the importance of embracing the entirety of who we are, and to talk about it.   Image printed on photographic paper. Wood frame.
